Road works, closures and resurfacing
Road works
You can check current road works in your area and find out who is responsible for them. This includes works carried out by us and by utility companies.
Use the Scottish Road Works Register to search by road name, place, postcode or map. You can also search between dates to see how long works are expected to last, who is carrying them out and how to contact them.
If you have questions about road works in your area, you can contact your local Roads office.

The Scottish Road Works Register lets you:

- find contact details for the organisation doing the work
This is the quickest way to find up-to-date information.
Who carries out road works
We are not the only organisation that carries out road works.
Works may also be carried out by:
- utility companies (for example, gas, water, or electricity)
- contractors working on behalf of other organisations
Trunk roads and motorways
Road works on trunk roads and motorways are managed by external operators.
Some major roads, including the A725, A726, A702 and M74, are managed by companies on behalf of the Scottish Government.
To report issues or ask about work on these roads, use the contact details on our Trunk roads and motorways page.
