Lending Voices: Portable Podcasting in Your Library

Lending Voices: Portable Podcasting in Your Library

Welcome to "Lending Voices," an exciting new initiative from South Lanarkshire Libraries, funded by the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC). This project aims to make podcasting accessible to everyone in our community, regardless of technical knowledge or financial resources. With portable podcasting kits available for use in any of our library branches, we provide the tools, support, and learning opportunities you need to create your own podcast and share your voice with the world.

What is Lending Voices?

"Lending Voices" is designed to make podcasting available to everyone in South Lanarkshire. Technical knowledge and equipment costs needn’t be obstacles. Our two portable podcasting kits, which can be used in any of our library branches, include everything you need to get started: a RØDECaster Pro 2 podcast studio, four microphones, four sets of headphones, and a laptop for recording, editing, and publishing your podcast.

How can I get involved?

Attend a taster session: We're hosting "pop up" taster sessions at every library branch in South Lanarkshire. These sessions are perfect for beginners, offering an introduction to podcasting, hands-on experience with the equipment, and a chance to brainstorm ideas for your own podcast.

Book a session: After attending a taster session, you can contact the Lending Voices project directly or enquire in your local branch to arrange a time to use one of our portable podcasting kits. Our staff will be on hand to provide support, guidance, and tips to help you develop your digital skills throughout the process.

Lend your voice: We're actively seeking contributions from local groups, charities, and initiatives for our "Lending Voices Podcast." If you have a story to tell, knowledge to share, or a unique perspective to offer, we want to hear from you!
