Blackwood and Kirkmuirhill Community Wing is run by South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture. This facility has a leisure centre, community hall and library.
Blackwood and Kirkmuirhill Community hall is located on the main road (B7078) through the village and was opened in October 2012. The hall is incorporated within the Blackwood and Kirkmuirhill Community Wing which adjoins Blackwood Primary School.
The hall is used by various groups for a variety of activities and comprises a main hall that can be split into two separate areas, a small kitchen area and has toilet facilities.
The community hall is 180m² overall, but can be divided as follows, Hall A - 120m² and Hall B - 60m² , by a movable dividing wall.
The small kitchen can be used by customers to provide their own teas and coffees. This facility can be used for a variety of community, social and commercial activities including courses and classes, arts and crafts, sports activities, community meetings, birthday parties, martial arts etc.
The Community Wing has disabled parking (2 spaces), automatic entrance doors and accessible reception. There is an accessible changing area, accessible toilet, Hearing Loop, Language Line and Typetalk. Assistance dogs are welcome.
