Rutherglen is marking 900 years in 2026! 

Rutherglen was granted Royal Burgh status by King David I of Scotland in 1126. To celebrate this incredible milestone, there will be year-long festival of events, exhibitions, performances, community storytelling and activities.

Rutherglen 900 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to come together as a community, to reflect on the past, take pride in our present, and shape the future of our beloved town.
