Abandoned vehicles
If you think a vehicle has been abandoned fill out our Report a problem form or contact Environmental Services. Please let them know the vehicle registration, the make and model, the colour, any other distinguishing features, the condition of the vehicle and where it is.
The police will try to find out who owns the car and whether it's been stolen or involved in a crime. This can take some time, although the vehicle will be removed if it's in a dangerous condition or blocking the road/driveways.
Cars which have been abandoned are taken to our vehicle pound in Larkhall. There is a charge for recovery.
