Bins - what goes in them

What you can put in your light grey bin

Your light grey bin is for recycling glass, metal cans and plastics. Please keep the lid fully closed on collection day. We cannot empty bins with open lids, extra bags or excess waste beside the bin. If you have more recycling than fits in your bin, you can take it to one of our household waste and recycling centres.

If you live in a flat and want to recycle these materials at home, you can request a 240-litre light grey bin if you have space to store it. Collections take place every four weeks.
