Lanark County Council

You can access selected records from the former County Council of the County of Lanark, which governed much of South Lanarkshire from 1890 to 1974. Most of these records are held by Glasgow City Archives, but we also keep a small number at our Archives and Records Centre. These records can help you research local history, family history or community development.

Where most records are held

Glasgow City Archives holds the main collection of County Council records. You can find full details by contacting Glasgow City Archives or through Your Scottish Archives.
