Bereavement Services - burial and cremation

Coronavirus (Covid-19)

The most recent guidance from the Scottish Government and The Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities is that all burial and cremation services should be restricted to immediate family only. The following guidelines of who should attend are as follows:

  • spouse/partner
  • parents/carers
  • brothers/sisters
  • children (and partners)

Information and changes are being updated on a regular basis and we will advise of any relevant updates as we get them.

We provide a dignified, sensitive burial and cremation service.

This includes the management of 54 cemeteries and the crematorium at Sydes Brae, Blantyre, as well as the maintenance of war memorials.

Ceremonies meet all religious and cultural needs with a wide choice of interment and memorial options.

South Lanarkshire Crematorium has induction loops, large print service books and the building is fully accessible.

If you need support following bereavement - with caring for a relative or benefit issues, contact social work for a care assessment or advice from their Money Matters service.

There are also support groups that assist people coping with bereavement. You can call Cruse on 0844 477 9400. If you have been affected by suicide or murder please call PETAL on 01698 324502.

If you would like more information or to enquire about our service please send us an enquiry. You can also view our Bereavement information pack.
