Licensing Divisions
Licensing Division No 1 - Clydesdale
The licensing board is separate from the council. It is made up of local councillors who review licence applications and make decisions based on licensing law and policy.
This Division deals with applications for the Clydesdale area, including Lanark, Carluke, Biggar, Lesmahagow and nearby villages. Its members are:

You can apply by submitting a fully completed application before the deadline shown below. If you meet the deadline, we aim to consider your application at the next meeting. Delays can happen if there are issues with your application.
Meeting dates and deadlines
Meetings usually start at 10am and take place either online or at Lanark Memorial Hall or Committee Room 1.
- 7 November 2025 – apply by 3 September 2025
- 23 January 2026 – apply by 29 October 2025
- 8 May 2026 – apply by 4 March 2026
- 4 September 2026 – apply by 1 July 2026
