The Shop Around the Corner

Eligible bachelor Alfred Kralik is the top salesman at Matuschek and Company, a leathergoods shop in pre-war Budapest, when newly-hired shopgirl Klara Novak joins the staff.

A series of miscommunications and mix-ups means the feuding co-workers can barely stand each other in person. But, unbeknownst to them, they are simultaneously falling in love as anonymous pen pals though a lonely hearts column. Their personal conflict and secret romance leads to a number of humorous misunderstandings, but will the pair manage to reconcile their differences?
