Third party liability claims

Although a road defect (such as a pothole) may have developed and may have appeared to cause damage, it doesn't mean we are liable to pay compensation.

We can't fix everything immediately. Road works are prioritised based on safety and available finance.

South Lanarkshire Council's road network is more than 1530 miles long. There are regular safety inspections to make sure that road defects are identified and, budget permitting, fixed.
