Make a claim for road or pavement damage

Making a claim: evidence, fees and fraud

If you want to make a claim, you must show clear evidence of any damage or financial loss. You are responsible for arranging repairs as soon as possible to prevent further damage. Keep all original invoices, receipts and documents, as we will need these to assess your claim.

If repair costs are likely to be over £500, we may need to inspect the damage before any work starts. Contact us first to avoid delays.

Professional advice

You can choose to get legal or other professional advice, but we cannot advise you on this. The claims process is the same whether you handle it yourself or use someone else. Even if we accept your claim, we may not cover professional fees.

Fraud

We take fraud seriously. We will investigate any suspected fraud, and if you are found guilty, you may face a fine or prison.

What to do next

Contact us to start your claim and check if an inspection is needed.
