Strategic development plan
South Lanarkshire is one of the eight constituent authorities covered by the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley strategic development plan. See the Glasgow and Clyde Valley Strategic Planning Authority.
This sets out the longer term approach to the future of the Strategic development planning authority area.
Forestry and Woodland Strategy
The finalised Forestry and Woodland Strategy (FWS) for Glasgow City Region was approved by the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Strategic Development Planning Authority Joint Committee on 14 December 2020.
The FWS for Glasgow City Region has been prepared in a partnership that includes the eight local authorities within Glasgow City Region, Scottish Forestry, NatureScot and Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Green Network. The FWS sets the policy context to support forestry and woodland planting and management across Glasgow City Region. It provides broad strategic locational guidance and environmental advice to those seeking to expand or manage woodlands.
