Reuse and recycle
Glass
Less energy is used to melt recycled glass to make new bottles than to make glass from raw materials.
There are glass recycling banks at some supermarkets and retail parks. You can search for your nearest one using Recyclenow's local recycling locator
Or, if you have a grey bin, you can put glass in it and present it at the kerbside for collection on the pick-up day. Please do not put glass crockery, ceramic, pyrex dishes, or window glass into your bin.
Glass collected by us is taken to Cumbria Waste Group.
