Reuse and recycle
Fridges and freezers
You can take any domestic fridges, freezers and fridge/freezers to our household waste and recycling centres who will dispose of them for free. Alternatively you can arrange a special uplift by completing the uplift request form.
Fridges and freezers can be recycled by specialist companies.
Why do fridge/freezers need to be recycled?
Fridges and freezers are also considered special waste and they can only be taken to licensed specialist recycling facilities. Over 95% of the average fridge/freezer can be recycled as plastics and metals.
