Blue Badge scheme

You can apply and renew using our online application.

If you are applying for someone, who because of a mental condition lacks awareness of danger from traffic and are likely to compromise their safety, or the safety of others you cannot apply online. Please use our Blue Badge enquiry form to request a Risk in Traffic application.

Timescales for processing Blue Badges

Once your application has been received and all relevant documents have been verified, the following timescales will apply:-

• Automatic applications (including those in receipt of Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment) - six weeks
• Further assessment required (not automatic-qualification) - six to eight weeks
• Risk in Traffic application - six to eight weeks

Submitting evidence for a Blue Badge

Before sending us any evidence, please make sure you have completed a Blue Badge application form first by clicking the Apply for or renew a Blue Badge button above.

Use the form below only if:

• You’ve been asked by our Blue Badge team to send evidence

• You’re sending evidence for something other than a new Blue Badge application or renewal - for example, a change of name or address
