Apprentice
If you or someone in your household is an apprentice earning less than £237 a week (£195 for periods prior to 31 March 2023) before tax and national insurance is deducted and undertaking training which will lead to a recognised qualification, you may be able to reduce your Council Tax bill by 25% or 50% depending on how many other adults live in the property.
You will be required to provide evidence of the apprenticeship with your application. This should be from the apprentice's employer and should confirm the following:
- Name of apprentice and date of birth
- Employer's name and address
- Course name/certificate or qualification details
- Course start and end dates
- Current gross weekly wage and post qualifying weekly wage
