Council Tax - exemptions and discounts (occupied properties)
Occupied properties
If a property is occupied (someone normally lives in it), you may be able to get a Council Tax discount or exemption. What you can get depends on who lives in the property and their circumstances. Select the discount or exemption that best describes your situation.
Water and waste water charges
If your home uses a septic tank or a private water supply, you may be able to reduce your water and waste water charges. Please see our Water and waste water page for more details.
Tell us if a Council Tax discount or exemption is to end
If anyone in your household is no longer entitled to a discount or exemption, you need to tell us as soon as possible. You can report this change using our end of entitlement online form.
Tell us about other changes to your household
If the number of people living in your home has changed, please see our Changes to your household page.
Provide evidence
If we have asked you for evidence to support a discount or exemption you have applied for, please see our Council Tax evidence page.
