Help if you are homeless or at risk

If you are homeless or worried you might lose your home, contact us as soon as possible. We will listen, keep your situation private, and help you find a safe place to stay or ways to keep your home.

Call 0303 123 1012 (Option 5) during office hours.

If you need somewhere to stay when we are closed, call the free emergency number 0800 24 20 24.

Who this is for

You may be homeless if you:

  • have nowhere to stay
  • are staying temporarily with family or friends
  • cannot safely stay in your home
  • have been locked out by your landlord
  • live in poor or unsafe conditions
  • are at risk of violence
  • are staying in a hostel or bed and breakfast

You may be at risk of homelessness if you:

  • have been asked to leave your home
  • are behind on rent or mortgage payments
  • are having problems with neighbours
  • are having issues with your landlord

How we can help

When you contact us, we will:

  • treat your situation with care and confidentiality
  • talk through your housing situation
  • offer emergency or temporary accommodation if you need it
  • give clear advice and support
  • explain what will happen next and how long it may take

When to contact us

Office hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8.45am to 4.45pm
  • Friday: 8.45am to 4.15pm
  • First Wednesday of each month: 11am to 4.45pm

You do not need to wait until you are homeless. Contact us early so we can help you sooner.
