Help and advice for homeless young people

How can we help?

If you are under the age of 16 and are either homeless or threatened with homelessness you can contact Social Work Resources on 0303 123 1008 or visit one of their local offices.

If you are over 16, please visit one of our local housing offices or if they are closed you can phone the emergency freephone number on the right of this page.

Time 2 Talk

If you are a young person at risk of becoming homeless the council can help. Time 2 Talk is part of our Mediation Service and we can help to reduce family conflict by resolving issues through mediation.

We can help to:

  • find solutions to make family life less stressful
  • improve support networks and communications between families
  • make leaving home a planned move
  • prevent young people leaving home too soon
  • help young people to return home if everyone in agreement and it is safe to do so

You can use our online mediation referral form and a trained mediator will contact you, or you can phone the Mediation Service directly using the contact details shown.

Youth, family and community learning service
